My family is on vacation this week. We chose to visit a beach with a ton of natural activities, and so far it’s been really nice.
We’ve seen so many sea birds. If I could, I’d sit and watch them all day.
This evening, we walked close to the marsh, and watched as birds settled in for the night.
Egrets and herons were there in droves. Some bickered, some did not. They settled onto their perches as the sun began to set.
It felt like a holy place. Just like everywhere else.
I’ve become quite the naturalist.
To me, holiness is found everywhere. It is with the birds, and on a busy highway. It is the energy and life that holds us together. Lately I’ve said to myself, “I’m surrounded by the mind and body of God” as I go about my day. It is a comforting thought.
